What is the Dixie Quilt Guild? A group of over 200 women…. and men, who have a passion for the art of quilting. Established in 1983, The Guild puts on an outstanding biennial quilt show with juried and judged display of over 200 members collection of quits, textiles, and wearable arts. The collection encompasses both the traditional and contemporary styles.
The show also includes a high quality Merchant’s Mall of unique vendors, and for a small fee, quilting lectures. In 2012 they offered a lecture by NQA Judge on “What Makes a Winning Quilt” and a free tour of the Superior Threads factory and showroom.
Exhibits have included in the past an award winning featured quilter, Pat Peters and TV personality Quilt Artist, Marilyn Badger, a boutique with lovely items available for purchase, a raffle to win the magnificent “Welcome Home” quilt. I can hardly wait to see what’s in store this year!
Come check out the quilt show as well as its beautiful surroundings in St. George, Utah. It will be worth the get away.
