I guess after taking your hard earned money at tax time, Uncle Sam has decided to give some back during your April vacation.

The National Park Service calls it “National Park Week”.  I call it “saving some cash”.

From April 16, 2011 to April 24, 2011, the U.S. will celebrate the 394 National Parks by removing entrance fees to all of them.   That’s great if you’re from Utah or plan to visit soon.  Why? Because the state of Utah is famous for its spectacular national parks.

This year’s National Park Week focus, Healthy Parks, Healthy People, highlights the connection between human and environmental health and the vital role America’s national parks play in both.

Stay with us at St. George Vacation Rentals as part of your national park tour.  We’re the most kid friendly St. George lodging.

So start your planning now.  A hike in Zion National Park is both healthy and fun.  Check out all these Zion attractions:  Emerald Pools; Angels Landing; The Narrows; Taylor Creek; Kolob Arch; Kolob Terrace; The Tunnel; Canyon Overlook trail; and Checkerboard Mesa.

All five of the Utah national parks are located relatively close together in southern and central Utah.  This means if you’re a national park fan, or your kids are, you can visit them all during one vacation.  As a bonus, the Grand Canyon is within driving distance as well.

Can you name all 5 Utah national parks?  They are …

  • Arches National Park
  • Bryce Canyon National Park
  • Canyonlands National Park
  • Capitol Reef National Park
  • Zion National Park
