When you’re looking for things to do in St George this weekend, you’ve got to think fall colors. Right now in the mountains surrounding St George the fall colors are popping! Fall is most peoples favorite time of year, and southern Utah does fall right.

Brian Head Fall Colors

Brian Head Utah is consistently ranked as one of the premier spots to see the fall leaves. There are a handful of great spots up there to see them from, most notably is the top of Brian Head peak, where there’s a little lookout cabin. From here you have panoramic views all around you. You’ll be able to see clear into the Pine Valley mountains. So the vantage point is unbeatable, and the leaves will paint the views in dramatic fashion.

Kolob Reservoir Fall Colors

Up on Kolob mountain you’ll get not only some great fall foliage, but a beautiful reservoir as well. Kolob is a hot spot for those looking to get into a more mountainy scene. The scrub oak that surrounds the reservoir make for dramatic reds and dark oranges, which when mirrored off of the reservoir make for picture perfect place for fall foliage.

Cedar Mountain Fall Colors

Although a fair amount of it is private, just the drive alone up through Cedar mountain would make for a tremendous trek through some beautiful country. Cedar Mountain is home to Aspen trees that turn bright yellow and orange (only occasionally turning red). The bright colors contrast beautifully against the white bark of the aspens.

Swiss Days in Santa Clara

If it isn’t fall colors you’re after then head out to Santa Clara for their annual Swiss Days. This is Santa Clara’s biggest events and they put a lot into it. All of the shops and stores donate time and decorations. There are festivities in the park for all ages, and food vendors will be present as well.
