St. George is a popular place to ride motorcycle, ATV, and other off-road vehicles; especially when it gets cold in Northern Utah. The red sand and beautiful, unique terrain make for great off-road tracks.

With the growth of St. George, UT the last decade or so it seems like some of the old popular off-roading locations have been closed to motorcycle and ATV riding.
Towards that end, we wanted to take a shot at listing the places in and near St. George, Utah that you can still utilize during your off-road vehicle riding vacation. Hopefully this list and maps will save you some time. We will try to update if government regulations change. St. George, Utah motorcycle, ATV, and other off-road vehicle riding vacations, where to ride?
- Warner Valley
You can always try the Warner Valley that lies behind the Washington Fields. You can head out to the area and you’ll find yourself surrounded with several trails and a lot of sand. There is also this excellent trail you can follow just behind the Sand Hollow area there.
- Coral Pink Sand Dunes
Now, if you simply want to explore a smaller area, you can head out to the Coral Pink area just forty five minutes out of St. George. This can be a good area to explore for you since it won’t take you more than a day to fully go over the said area.
- Black Rock Exit
You can also go over Black Rock Exit. It’s a place that you find several miles out of St. George. You can start out with the dirt paths there and then start taking the regular roads. This will eventually bring you to the fire paths there and then the more challenging four-wheeler roads. This can be an excellent ride. So, grab your things and a good map will also be great help for you.
- Turkey Farm
You can also go for the off-road trails branching out from the main road just behind the St. George area. This adventure starts off by following the trail near the Turkey Farm that will lead you to the grove. You can start exploring various dirt paths branching out from there on.
- Arizona Strip
Another area for you to explore would be the one near the freeway. Keep going until the fences get out of sight. From there, there will be several trails that you might like to go riding on. You might also want to start off from the school area. Mt. Trumbell’s north-eastern and western sections will also give you lots of trails to explore.
- Utah Mountain
At the back of Bloomington is the Utah Mountain. You can start via the dirt path up and down the hill going to Gunlock. This can be a rough road travel and it will be one of the highlights of your trip.
- End of Navajo Road in Bloomington
Drive and park at the very end of Navajo Drive in Bloomington. As you enter, all the trails north of the dirt road have been closed due to an environmental issue with an endangered poppy flower. However, everything south of the road is open. There’s lots of jumps, whoops, etc. You could link some of the trails together with the roads and ride in large twenty mile plus loops.
- End Part Of Bloomington Hills
If you’re familiar with the area at the end of Bloomington, you already know that it was already converted into an airport. So, no more free motor cross riding there but you can still use the established paths in said area.
Where to ride? St. George is actually a good place to explore. You can go through so many of the trails that you will find in the area. Expect the rough riding that you’ve always wanted. The thing here is that you need to grab a map, pack your things, and you’re ready for the trip!
