Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will soon be presented at the Tuacahn Amphitheatre. The famous musical play is based on the story “Coat of Many Colors”, which is about Joseph, one of the popular characters in the Bible’s Book of Genesis. This play is actually said to be the first ever musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Time Rice that was performed publicly.
History of the Play
Joseph was first shown at the Colet Court School in London. That was in the year 1968 and was performed as a 15 minute pop cantata at that time. The play was then recorded as a concept album on the following year, 1969.
Right after the next piece from Rice and Webber has become a success; Joseph received a stage production starting in 1970 and was then expanded into recordings in the year 1971 until 1972. While still going through various expansions and transformations, the musical was already presented at the West End in the year 1973.
The full format was recorded on the following year, and soon enough, it opened in Broadway in 1982. A lot of major revivals have been made since then and a 1999 film soon followed, which starred Donny Osmond.
Exciting Musical Show

All the adventures that Joseph has gone through along the way have challenged his spirit and humanity. Later on, he was purchased by Potiphar and thwarting advances from his wife, he landed in jail. When the news about Joseph’s gift began to spread, it reached the Pharaoh and soon enough, Joseph became second in command.
