In summertime it’s hard to find a weekend where something exciting isn’t going on in St George and surrounding areas. This weekend it’s the surrounding areas that are hopping with activities.

Cedar Breaks Wildflower Festival

If it’s mountains and wildflowers you seek then take a quick trip up to Cedar Breaks National Monument. They have guided tours that are held every day that start at 10 am and end at 1 pm. These tours are about an hour long as a volunteer will walk you through some of the best sections of the park, showing and teaching you how to identify anything from blue bells to daisy’s.

Plus on top of that you’ll get to soak in the view from what feels like being atop the world at the Cedar Breaks viewpoint. Cedar Breaks is an amphitheater that looks quite similar to Bryce Canyon National Park.

To get there head north to Cedar City and then head up Highway 14 towards Duck Creek. The turn off for Cedar Breaks is quite noticeable once you reach the top.

Bonus Cedar Breaks Tip:

If you are looking to linger then check out their star party’s that begin at 9:30 pm. Where all you’ll need is a jacket and a desire to see the stars like you never have before. With next to no light pollution. The cost is just $5.

Zion Summer Fest

If its a little more excitement you’re after, then Zion Canyon is your destination point. As they’ll have live music from performers like BrickWalker, Carlie Wall, and Raven Cain. Plus the wine and beer will be flowing to only help increase the mood.

It starts on Friday July 17th and goes from 2 pm – 11 pm. And is located at the Community Center, 126 Lion Boulevard in Springdale
